Today, I continued working on my paper. I discussed a little about virtualization and its relation to cloud computing. My objective for today is to :
- define virtualization
- and discuss its significance in relation to cloud computing and the benefits it brings to enterprises.
“Virtualization is the pooling and sharing of technology resources, including servers, storage, and networking. Through virtualization, resources can be allocated dynamically across an enterprise application and processes” (Hewlett-Packard Developement Company,HP 2009).”
It is important that enterprise establish a virtualized IT environment in order to enable an adaptive infrastructure, reducing cost, increasing growth, quicker delivery of applications and business services, efficient utilization of data center, with added availability, continuity and security.
